Make a plate workshop

Learn how to make a decorative plate out of clay by pressing into plaster moulds, adding texture and painting with coloured slips to make your own unique handmade plate! Suitable for ages 5 yrs to 90 yrs old. Children aged 5-12 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Inspired by Morris: Ceramic painting drop in workshop & demonstration of printing press

Join us for a free drop-in workshop! Learn about William Morris's beautiful designs and paint your own Morris inspired ceramic tile. Then watch a demonstration of William Morris's Albion printing press. No charge, but donations to cover cost of materials are welcome.

Movement classes for families and babies by Music House for Children

Come along to drop-in music and movement classes for babies and young children! Music House for Children is a leading organisation with an extensive range of multi-arts workshops, shows, concerts and music based activities to delight and inspire families and children alike. Many traditional tales are woven into interactive adventures involving composition, dancing and shared creative engagement. There are 3 classes at 40 minutes each: 9.45am, 10.30am and 11.30am (newborns) on Wednesday 5 and Friday 7 June.

Pop Up Photo Studio

Take part in our free community photo booth in Lyric Square! We welcome people of all ages to join us and make fun, colourful portraits. Have a go using professional equipment, learn how to stage a photo shoot with lights, props and backdrops, and print your pictures to take home with you! The photo booth will be run by young people in and leaving the care of 3 local authorities. They are in partnership with Autograph, which works to explore identity, representation, human rights and social justice through photography and film.

A Radio Play in a Day

Our great workshop will suit those who would like to try their hand at acting without having to worry about remembering words! We will begin the day with some fun improvisation exercises before moving onto to working on scripts. A session on creating sound effects will end our morning session. The afternoon will be devoted to preparing and performing the main script: “Visitors”. It should be great fun.
